Using emails and texts to book people
Written by: The Buddi Team
As a musician, booking other musicians for a gig can be a time-consuming task. From finding the right musicians for the performance, to negotiating their schedules and rates, the process can take several weeks or even months to complete.
One of the first steps in booking other musicians for a gig is to determine what type of music is needed for the performance. This could involve reviewing the gig schedule and determining the type of music that is needed for each set, as well as the style of music that would be most appropriate for the audience. After this step, musicians need to research and find musicians that are able to play the necessary instruments and have the desired musical style. This can be done through online music databases, personal contacts, or even by word-of-mouth.
Once a list of potential musicians is assembled, the next step is to reach out to them to inquire about their availability. This can be done by sending emails, making phone calls, or even arranging personal meetings. The musician booking the gig may need to coordinate with multiple musicians to ensure that all of their schedules are in alignment, which can be a time-consuming process.
Imagine if you could take what would take days or weeks to complete and you could do it in an hour or two.
Luckily, there is a tool out there that you can use for free to make this happen. It’s called Buddisystems. Buddi allows you to book and pay your musicians all in one place as well as report 1099s at the end of the year making it much easier for the bandleader or the music venue.
